Klassisches Werk zur Zahnheilkunde, das sich u. a. als erstes seiner Art auf wissenschaftliche Weise mit dem Thema der Zahn-Transplantation befaßt.

Erste deutsche Ausgabe, erschien erstmals 1771 in englischer Sprache. "This is a detailled study of the mouth, jaws and teeth with exceptionally accurate plates. Hunter correctly understood the growth and development of the jaws and their relation to the muscles of mastication. He coined the terms cuspids, molars and incisors" (Garrison/M.).

Contemp. half calf with gilt fillets on spine and red label. - Slightly browned, at the beginning and end waterstained (7 plates not affected). Paper covering rubbed, joints partly torn, extremities of spine with small defects.
