S. 165). - Mit den schönen Tafeln nach Vorlagen des Breslauer Apothekers Hendrik Claudius, der den späteren Gouverneur der neugegründeten Kapkolonie, Simon van der Stel (1639-1712) als Botaniker und Zeichner auf seiner Expedition 1685-86 nach Namaqualand begleitete. Die hochwertigen Zeichnungen gelangten später in das Raritätenkabinett des damaligen Burgemeesters von Amsterdam, Nikolaas Witsen, zu dem der Arzt und Botaniker Johannes Burman Zugang hatte.
