Stellenw. leicht fleckig, vord. fliegendes Vorsatzbl. entfernt, Titelbl. nahezu gelöst, die folgenden ca. 8 Bll. in der unteren Ecke mit Knickspur. Einbd. etw. fleckig. Insgesamt sauberes Exemplar.

Second print of the second edition. One of Franck's main works, first published in 1534 and the first cosmography printed in German language. With a comprehensive chapter on America dealing wiith the voyages of Columbus, Vespucci and Cortes. Contemp. vellum with ms. title on spine. - Lacking the foreword to the reader as well as 2 text leaves and the last blank before the index. Partly slightly stained, front flying endpaper lacking, title page nearly detached, the following 8 leaves with slight crease to corner. Binding somewhat stained. Overall still clean copy.(R)
